Buying- Selling - Payment

After the price of the artwork has been negotiated freely and definitively set by the seller and the buyer, two methods of payment are available.

Using an escrow account

ArtViatic can organise an escrow account to provide greater security for your transactions.

We guarantee the security of funds held in such accounts.

When you deposit the transaction amount in the escrow account, our bank becomes its guarantor and safeguards that the transaction is carried out securely.

The amount deposited in the escrow account is held until the buyer notifies ArtViatic that they have received the work and advises their bank to release the funds to the seller.

At no time will ArtViatic have access to the funds held in the escrow account.

Once the transaction has been completed, ArtViatic will send the buyer and seller an invoice for 3% of the negotiated sale price and withdraw the work from the online catalogue.

For further information about how to set up an escrow account, members should consult the FAQ section from their personal account.

Direct transactions

When selling an artwork, after you have agreed with the buyer on the price of the artwork, the next step is to send them your bank account details.

Once you have received the full payment you may send the work, the certificate of authenticity, the invoice and any other relevant documents to the buyer. The invoice must list all the information provided when the work was entered into the ArtViatic catalogue, the full negotiated price and must bear the statement "Amount paid by wire transfer".

The use of this method of payment is entirely the responsibility of the buyer and seller. ArtViatic cannot be held responsible for security breaches that occur during the transaction.

Buyers and sellers must act in good faith throughout the transaction.

Once the transaction has been confirmed by the seller and the buyer receives the work, the parties agree to notify ArtViatic of the sale via their respective ArtViatic accounts.

Once the transaction has been completed, ArtViatic will send the buyer and seller an invoice for 3% of the negotiated sale price and withdraw the work from the online catalogue.
